Accessibility

Last updated 2026-10-26

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Accessibility is part of how the site is built, not an overlay widget.

What we have built in

  • A skip link, semantic headings and landmarks on every page.
  • Keyboard access to menus, filters, the planner, calculators and the compare tool, with a visible focus outline.
  • Status shown with words and symbols, never color alone.
  • Form errors announced and tied to their fields.
  • Layouts that work from 360 px wide phones to large desktops and at 200% zoom.
  • Reduced motion respected.
  • Light and dark color schemes that follow your system setting.

How we check

Automated checks with axe-core run against every page before release, plus manual keyboard passes. A full manual review with screen readers is planned before public launch.

Known gaps

  • Product photos are not yet available; each product shows a line drawing with a text alternative instead.
  • The exploded drawing on the home page is decorative-plus-navigation; its parts list table carries the same links.
