Best for

A roof or mast node that needs to reach far across fairly flat ground.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Listed VSWR of 2 or less.
  • Rated 50 W input and a 60 m/s wind rating.
  • Pole bracket for masts up to 1.5 in.

Limitations

  • Long and visible.
  • Gain quoted as a range (5.1 to 5.8 dBi).
  • Retailer specs; no independent pattern test.

What it does not do

  • Fit a radio directly: you need coax and an adapter to your radio's SMA, RP-SMA or IPEX connector.
  • Cover steep angles well: higher gain narrows the vertical beam (35° listed). Nearby nodes far below or above can be weaker.

Before you buy

  • Under 6 dBi, so the US full-power limit applies without reduction (47 CFR 15.247). Coax loss still subtracts from what reaches the antenna.
